2010 Election

Ballots have been sent to voting members for the 2010 Election. Ballots must be received by the APA by 5 p.m. (EST) February 5, 2010. Use the information on your paper ballot to vote online. For candidate information, visit the Election page. If you do not receive a ballot by January 15, write election@psych.org to request one.

Government Relations

Both the House and Senate have passed a 60-day delay for the Medicare SGR cuts that were scheduled to take effect January 1st 2010. This will allow a grace period while Congress continues to finalize its health reform proposal. A full update will be posted in the next issue of RushNotes.

Laws protecting the privacy of students are often misunderstood and should not impede appropriate disclosure of patient records when the health and safety of students may be endangered.
