Dr. Mamah is on the clinical faculty of the department of psychiatry, Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, and he is a National Institute of Mental Health postdoctoral fellow in psychiatric epidemiology and biostatistics.
Dr. Mamah’s current research is focused on structural neuroimaging at Washington University’s Conte Center for the Neuroscience of Mental Disorders. Imaging techniques used include semi-automated computerized mapping methods (including Large Deformation-High Dimensional Brain Mapping) to evaluate volume and shape of various neuroanatomical structures, and Diffusion Tensor Imaging to study white matter tracts in individuals with schizophrenia and their healthy relatives, as well as those with other psychiatric disorders. He also studies the clinical and cognitive relationships of various neuroanatomical variables.
Dr. Mamah received his medical degree from the Semmelweis University of Medicine in Budapest, Hungary after graduating from the Federal Government College in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Following medical school, he spent two years conducting laboratory research at Northwestern University and the Psychiatric Institute of the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Mamah completed his psychiatry residency at Washington University in St. Louis, where he also received a master of psychiatric epidemiology (M.P.E.) degree.
