The two-year APA Psychiatric Leadership Fellowship (formerly the APA/GSK Fellowship) offers psychiatric residents, with exceptional leadership potential, many different experiences that prepare them for leadership roles. Those selected participate in a component of the APA governance structure, attend the APA Annual and Fall Component Meetings, present a workshop at the Annual Meeting, receive leadership training, visit innovative psychiatry programs, are assigned to a prominent psychiatrist for individual mentoring, and more.
Eligibility
Psychiatric residents who are PGY II year of psychiatric residency at the time of nomination (or PGY III of a five-year program), are members of the APA , or have applied for membership and have passed all national or state board examinations needed for full (independent) state licensure (e.g., USMLE 1, 2, and 3 or COMLEX parts 1, 2, and 3 or Canadian QE parts 1 and 2) are eligible.
Residents who are members of the APA Committee of Residents and Fellows, the APA Minority Fellowships Program, or the APA/Bristol-Myers Squibb Fellowship Program are ineligible.
Each accredited psychiatric residency training program may nominate one resident.
