APA Submits Testimony to Senate Judiciary Committee

(Arlington, VA) - The APA submitted testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee regarding the recent hearing, "What Should America Do About Gun Violence?". The testimony highlighted mental health stigma, the establishment of a Mental Health Commission, mental health parity, investing in existing mental health care initiatives, mental health workforce issues, among others. The APA also showcased the Typical of Troubled? program created by the American Psychiatric Foundation. The APA has a position statement on record regarding the effect of media violence on children.
