Medical Students register free!
That is substantial savings!
If you are not already a member but plan to attend the Annual Meeting, you may be eligible to participate in the APA Member Rebate Program and qualify for a $585 rebate to apply towards your APA General Membership dues.
To Qualify:
You must be a psychiatrist residing in the U.S. or Canada and have paid the full-time non-member registration fee for the 2013 Annual Meeting ($1,000 advance / $1,100 on-site.*) *Note: The amount of the rebate if registering for the annual meeting onsite is $645 - the difference between the onsite member registration fee and the onsite non-member registration fee.)
2013 Annual Meeting Registration Fees
To Apply:
Stop by one of the APA Membership Booth’s in the San Francisco Convention Center to complete a General Member application. The application must be submitted on-site during the meeting. Proof of ACGME-AOA or RCPS(C) – approved psychiatry residency training, and valid medical licensure, must be received by the APA no later than June 30, 2013.
How Does the Rebate Work?
Your local psychiatric district branch must approve the membership application no later than September 30, 2013. The difference between the member and non-member Annual Meeting registration fee will be applied towards your 2013 national and local dues. The balance of the rebate will be applied toward future years’ dues.*
Dual Membership in the APA and the local district branch where you practice or reside is required. Local dues are determined by the district branch and can vary.
More information is available from the APA Membership Department at 888.357.7924 or by emailing membership@psych.org.
*If outstanding dues from previous years are owed, you may be required to pay the outstanding dues separate from the Rebate Program. Some district branches collect dues locally (not through APA) and/or do not participate in dues amnesty. Therefore, it is possible the Rebate Program amount may not be enough to cover the outstanding dues. Please note, in some cases, the Rebate Program amount may not be enough to cover the pro-rated current dues.
