March 28, 2014 Deadline for Submitting Aetna Claims as Part of Class Action Suit

Fri January 17, 2014

On December 28, 2013, a preliminary approval was given to a  $120 million settlement from Aetna in response to a lawsuit that accused the insurer of underpaying  for care from out- of- network providers. The suit claimed that by depending on inaccurate  Ingenix databases for determining usual and customary fees, Aetna undervalued services and therefore is responsible for under-reimbursing its enrollees and, in some cases, their out of network providers from March 1, 2001 through August 13, 2013.  If you or your patients choose to join the class, you give up your right to sue Aetna individually for any out-of-network under-reimbursement  For complete information, go to .
